Mrs May has disappeared

“Now Grace are you doing for show and tell today” said Mrs May “magic” said Grace ”take it away” “rightio please watch carefully everyone i will start with an easy trick pick a card any card Mrs may” got it” she said. (a few hours later) “now for the finale trick I am going to attempt to make this stuffed bunny go over there” she said as she pointed to the window”boring can’t you do something big and exciting” i said “fine I’ll make Mrs may disappear” “WHAT!!!!!” shouted Mrs may “please stand right here” so she did she walked up and stood right there in the exact place and grace did what she had said she actually tried to do it it didn’t work of course but wait where did she go did grace actually do it? I did it I actually did” she wailed “Mrs may has gone and it’s all my fault” she cried and cried until there was a huge puddle on the floor “how are we going to find her now “ I know we can ask for her shoes and harry can smell he has a good sense of smell you know so off we went to find her shoes when we got to my house had the shoes and were chasing harry to get him to smell the shoes he wouldn’t come but  we finally got him he was in the middle of smelling the shoes when he suddenly started biting them to bits” what’s happening I’ve trained him especially for these sorts of things so why isn't he doing it now we finally found out it was because grace’s wand was playing up so she went to charge it up while she did that we got the shoe fixed up with duct tape suddenly there was a knock on the door and i was very surprised to see mrs may and the invisible spell had already weared off and we all lived happily ever after.THE END

Fire escape

Beep! Beep! Beep! I woke up to see red flames trying to get into  my room. My heart was thumping inside me. My face was burning and my mind was whizzing with worries. I had to do something and quick! Fire! Fire! Fire! I yelled. My sister woke up but we couldn’t see each other. We had to get everyone out of the house so we got out of bed and checked the door. It was fine so we opened it and woke everyone up then Dad took charge. He told us we had to touch the kitchen door and if it was hot we had to go out the back door and get to the mailbox. We ended up standing by the mailbox while Mum called the fire brigade. A few minutes later we were out the house the fire was out and we were all safe.

Tree planting at Waitahuna

Tree planting at Waitahuna

Room 7 and Room 4, some parents, Mrs May and Marie all went to Waitahuna to help with tree planting and some electric fishing. There were also some people to help us; Glen and Matt came to help with the tree planting and Keiran and Angus helped with the fishing. We had to go into groups with three or two children and one adult. I was with Aria and Grant. I had to pull off most of the bags while Aria dug the holes. When you dug the holes you had to make a square so the plant would fit in the hole, then you had to crush up the dirt. Glen called that squashing potatoes. Then we had to dig all of the dirt out so it was deep enough for the plant to be underground so it wouldn’t blow away in the wind. We also did some electric fishing with Keiran and Angus. First, they showed us the nets they used to catch the fish then he showed us a GINORMOUS eel that he had caught overnight. He also showed us a brown trout and a lamprey eel (which just looks like a tiny worm if you were wondering). They are sometimes called a sucker eel because they don’t have a jaw so they have to suck. I had so much fun!

  

Student of the week

House on fire

House on Fire: Smoke poured out of the house. I watched in despair as it fell to pieces. It looked like a volcano. It took until the fire came out of the roof. I felt as if I was in that house as it happened. I felt scared and excited at the same time. The fire grew and grew as quickly as possible. I  knew that soon all of it would be gone. A few seconds later the wall collapsed and the house melted like an ice-cream in the sun. The next minute the wall came down and the smoke blinded me. The last wall came down but the flames still grew. The only thing still standing was the chimney. Finally it was all done.

Senior swimming sports

This was my first year doing the senior swimming sports. I was really nervous because Mum had to do mainly music and Dad was taking a funeral but it turned out to be really fun. The first thing we did was the freestyle. Mum was there for the start so she could watch that part but it was alright because Nana and Grandad were there as a surprise. They were there the whole day. The thing I enjoyed the most was cheering on my friends and family especially when I found out that Grace was in the relay. Next year I’m going to do the underwater because while the seniors were doing the underwater Mrs May came up to Katie and I and asked if we wanted to do a width of underwater with the people doing width and I won I did a whole width. I LOVED it.

The is my Modigliani picture. We had to do a really big nose because we put our eyes right at the top of our face and our mouths at the bottom. Modigliani portraits all have long necks and bright colours.

Swimming at school

This year in Room 4 we've been doing a lot of swimming. I am in the highest class. We have been learning how to do breast stroke I'm not very good at it though ☹.Annabelle is the only one who can do it. The swimming sports is on Friday I want to do back stroke and freestyle. I love swimming.   

Athletics Day

The first thing my group did was long jump. That was my favourite thing mainly because I'm good at it but also because it was fun.The next we did was sprints. Dad was the starter. I think he likes that one because he does it every year. After that it was Nerf throw. I didn't like that one very much. On to next activity which was shot-put, that wasn't so bad but wasn't one of my favourites. Then we went to discus that's after shot put on my list of things I like best. We also did high jump and I was pleased with how high I jumped. Then it was lunch. I got a sausage sizzle and water. After lunch we went to distance that's the hardest one EVER!! But at least I came 4th. Finally that was the end of athletics day.

Today was my first day back in Room 4 for 2017.
