My Speech
Have you ever looked at someone else’s work and copied their answers? Have you ever secretly used a calculator? Have you ever sneaked a peek at your spelling words? If you have then you are a cheater. Just because you can cheat, doesn’t mean you should. Cheating is a bad idea. No one should cheat. Today I’m going to talk about three reasons why you shouldn’t cheat.
Firstly, cheating is the same as lying and stealing.
If you hand in school work that you cheated on, it’s like telling
the teacher that you did it all on your own. If this isn’t true, then you are
telling a lie.
If you take someone else’s work and say that it’s your own, then
you are stealing.
Do you want to
be called a liar? Do you want to be called a thief? Just because you can cheat
doesn’t mean you should.
Secondly, cheating can become a habit.
Have you ever told a little lie and then had to tell a bigger lie
to cover up the first one? Cheating can be like this.
People who cheat
don’t do it just once. Cheating becomes a habit and it’s very hard to stop.
Cheating can become part of who you are and can spread into other areas of your
life. Be an honest person. Just because you can cheat doesn’t mean you should.
Thirdly, you can’t be proud of cheating.
When you do
something on your own, you feel proud. Can you remember how good it felt when
you learned to ride a bike without training wheels or when you learned to tie
your own shoelaces for the first time? You worked hard to achieve those things
and it made you feel proud when you could finally do them. But people who cheat
never feel like this.
If you cheat you
are relying on someone else to do the work for you. You can’t be proud of that
because you know that you haven’t earned it. Cheating is an easy way out.
Cheating means that you don’t do the hard work and you don’t learn. Just
because you can cheat doesn’t mean you should.
So, next time
you are tempted to look at the answers or copy someone else’s work. Don’t. Ask
for help. And remember that cheating is like lying and stealing, cheating can
become a habit and you cannot be proud of cheating. Just because you can cheat
doesn’t mean you should.

quick write ball through the window
Whoosh! The ball went straight through the window. Glass scattered right across the garden. It splashed out of the house, a piece missed my head. I couldn’t help staring. Mum was looking out the window with an angry face on. She was holding the ball.

Hide and seek
I was running up and down the ground but I couldn’t find a hiding spot. Atlas I found it. It was a small bush but I had to get in there fast or Shannon would find me. I could feel the leaves crunching beneath me. I could hear children laughing as someone ran passed without noticing them. I could see someone coming I didn’t know who though. I could see lots of people were found there were still a few people left.
